Weight Loss

www.my-calorie-counter.com     The webs free Nutrition Counter

At the beginning of the year I set down and wrote out a few goals for myself, one of them included loosing 80 pounds. Now I know this may seem like a lot, but to be honest I put on a few pounds after getting married, then I put on 50 pounds while pregnant with my son (almost 5 years ago, which I thought I lost, but actually retained a fair bit of it), then I put on another 25 when I was pregnant with my daughter. Well after three years of dragging this weight around I decided enough was enough and it had to go! In February our family got a membership to the local YMCA and I have been going since then. As of the beginning of July I am down 30 pounds and I am optimistic about the remaining 50 (although I do not think I will take it all off this year, but soon enough). This page will be my links and weight loss goodies for anyone that cares. Here is what I am doing now and hopefully this will be my way of tracking improvements and set backs. I took last week off from the gym and need a shot in the arm so this is it!

What I am doing to loose weight as of July, 2008:

I am working out 4-5 days a week. Three days a week I take a 45 minute deep water aerobics class and twice a week I do an hour on the elliptical trainer (approximately 6 miles at this point).

I am weighing myself once a week, and measuring myself in my clothes.

I am trying to eat better, but have to admit that is where I am lacking in a major way.

What I plan on doing next:

I will actively use an online food and exercise tracker. (I must admit I did this for the first few months, but thought I could manage on my own, my weight loss has since slowed. So I will start again.) This is the site: http://www.my-calorie-counter.com/ for those of you who could use it too.

I will also start doing 15 minutes of lap swim after my water aerobics class to increase my cardio time.

I will also invite all of you to egg me along on this journey, keep me acountable and, ride my butt if I need it. (I may not be happy about all the time but I promise I will forgive you!)
